Most people know this hat as a musketeer hat, but in keeping with the tricorne and bicorne nomenclature, we have renamed it the ‘unicorne’ since it is turned up on only one side.   The French and the Spanish wore musketeer hats, but the hat is most famous for the three musketeer films and books.  The Australian bush or slouch hats are similar and turned up on one side to clear the way for a musket carried over the shoulder.
